Manjarabad fort is a star fort built in 1792 by Tipu Sultan the then ruler of Mysore on the pattern of the military forts developed by the French architect Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban.
Manjarabad Fort has been built in one of the most scenic part of Southern Karnataka. Sakleshpur region in itself is famous for its beautiful mountains, coffee plantations and excellent weather conditions - making it a perfect place for getaways. Tourists wanting to spend some time exploring have many avenues to do so. Hiking, trekking, picnics near waterfalls, camping, visiting the local shrines (especially Kukke Subramanya at Sakleshpur) are some of the activities which any traveller would love to indulge in.
