The Mirjan Fort is located on the west coast of the Uttara Kannada district in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. The fort known for its architectural elegance was the location of several battles in the past.

Kumta is a town which has several temples including Kumbheshwar, Salt Ganapati, Shantika Parameshwari, Mahalasa Narayani, Shanteri Kamakshi, Kavur Kamakshi and Shankar Narayan. These places of worship feature period architecture and art forms, especially Kavi art. There are many tourist places near Kumta. Gokarna is famous for beaches and temples and is just 20 km away. Yana, known for its massive limestone peaks, is also 20 kms from Kumta. The beautiful Dhareshwar Beach is located five kms away from Kumta. The town has good hotels and is well connected. The beautiful town of Kumta is covered with greenery, hills and forests and has five beautiful waterfalls. There are green paddy and sugarcane fields everywhere. You will come across many art and craft shops here. Sandalwood artifacts are famous and exclusive here.
