Mukkadal dam is built across the Vambaru River in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India, 10 km from town of Nagercoil. It is a scenic place, favored as a picnic location among local residents.
At the entrance gate, the road forks, one neat tar-topped stretch leading to the forest and, the other, a pebbled track ending in a flight of stone steps that led to the reservoir.
